It is Leah Owens’ desire to offer hope for the hopeless and help for the helpless; to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to pass no moral judgment, but offer God's love, grace, and forgiveness. She believes that God has a plan for everyone, and it is to prosper, not to harm, and to give hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
Leah is a Nationally Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor and also a Registered Play Therapist. She is trained in in Theraplay, the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) model to work with children who have attachment challenges, Trauma Focused cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and is certified to administer PREPARE/ENRICH Assessments, a tool for pre-marital/marital counseling.
In 2012, Leah earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi with an Ed.S in Play Therapy, and of the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Rehabilitation Services with an emphasis in counseling/psychology, in 1987.
Leah has been married to her husband, Keith, since 1987, and they have three grown sons and 2 daughters-in-law, and a grandson. She is a PK (preacher’s kid) and has been actively involved in ministry for over 30 years.
She has been with Pathways since December of 2011.
